Your grades are set. Your essays aren't.

What this is

For most international applicants, the essay is the least understood part of the application and the only part still open. Transcripts are submitted. Test scores are what they are. The essays are where a reader decides whether they have met a person or read a file.

Meridian Essays is one-to-one coaching through that process — from figuring out what to write about, to a final draft you can defend as entirely your own.

How it works

  1. Intro call

A free 30-minute conversation. You describe where you are, I tell you honestly whether I can help. If it isn't a fit, I'll say so.

  2. Sessions

45 minutes each, over video. We work on what you're actually writing — finding the story, cutting what isn't earning its place, fixing structure that buries the point.

  3. Written feedback

Send a draft, get detailed notes back within 72 hours. Comments and questions on your writing — never a rewrite.

Who this is for

  • International students applying to US universities
  • Students working on the Common App personal statement, supplements, or both
  • Anyone who has been told their essay is "good" and can tell that isn't the same as finished

Not a fit for: graduate school applications, scholarship essays, or transfer applications. If that's what you need, I'll point you elsewhere on the intro call.

How I work

I coach. I don't write.

Every US application requires the student to certify the work is their own. That certification has to be true — applications have been withdrawn and degrees revoked over this, years after the fact.

So, plainly:

  • I give feedback, ask questions, and point out what isn't working. I do not write or rewrite any sentence that gets submitted.
  • I don't invent, embellish, or reshape achievements that didn't happen.
  • I don't run drafts through AI and hand back the output.
  • I don't promise admission anywhere, and I'm not affiliated with any university's admissions office.
  • Parents are copied on scheduling and receive a summary after each session.

The test I hold every draft to: could you defend every sentence in an interview as something you thought and wrote? If not, we're not finished.

Availability

I take 12 students per cycle. That isn't a sales tactic — it's the number I can serve properly given that every session comes with written feedback. When it's full, it's full.

Session times:

  • Monday–Thursday, 7–11pm US Eastern
  • Saturday, 8am–noon US Eastern

The Saturday block is timed for families in the Gulf, North Africa, and Europe. Weekday evenings work for the Americas and East Asia. All times shown in your local timezone when you book.
